A very pleasant hotel. In a quiet cul de sac. Close to lots of lovely places in the old, historic part of George Town. Is now my ‘go-to’ hotel in George Town.

If you want something unique and a bit of Malaysia’s past, this property is a great choice. Not a typical hotel room, the property is full of charm and character. I loved the romantic decor of the room, tropical and airy. Its good location and super friendly staff are very helpful.

Loved our stay here! The rooms were very spacious and air conditioned. We loved that it’s in a restored house. The pool was very nice to have as well in the Georgetown heat!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Eateries are easily accessible. We were happy to have chosen this hotel for our stay in Penang.

Absolutely loved the hotel. Very spacious room was beautifully decorated with textiles from a local shop and other charming and tasteful interiors. Everything was very well maintained and clean. Friendly and attentive owner and staff were always there to help and assist. The only backdrop would be the noises and music sounds from bars nearby at night, but for me this was an acceptable trade-off for the convenient location. During the day, it was quiet and peaceful in general. I hope to come back!

Great staff, location & hotel. A historic building and a nice change from your generic hotel without compromise. Good AC & beds. Yes, some noise from the nearby bars in the evening but not a deal breaker for us. Would stay again.

The loud music from a local establishment made it very hard to sleep at light.

Room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. I can’t speak highly enough of the friendly employees who made us so welcome. Whilst there is some noise from local bars, it did not disturb our sleep at all. In fact the central location of this charming hotel made our stay even more enjoyable. I would recommend!

beautiful little heritage hotel well-located in the heart of georgetown. stayed 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. rooms: tastefully decorated and spacious. there were separate sleeping and sitting areas, which we appreciated. saw many reviews about the noise situation but we thought it was perfectly fine — there were soundproofing curtains which were very effective, not sure if they're a recent addition. building: interesting architecture, colonial look with peranakan influences, i personally adored it. not much in the way of amenities but there was a swimming pool that was reasonably well-maintained. exceptionally located near loads of eateries and cafes (try project gelato!) service: staff was very warm, suffian in particular was very helpful with recommendations. daily housekeeping was great. loads of nice little touches like complimentary ice-creams at the pool, and saw the staff putting up decor for cny too. all in all, highly recommended if you're looking for a local boutique hotel stay!
