The bathroom appeared to have been left unattended, with a dirty towel still in the room. The shower soap dispenser was also empty, and it took nearly 20 minutes to receive soap after I reported it. I explained that there was no backup soap and that, because the dispenser is opaque, it’s impossible for guests to know when it’s empty until they’re already in the shower. After reporting the issue, I was left waiting. When I called back, I was told someone would come “eventually.” I then tried calling reception again multiple times but was repeatedly sent to voicemail. The lack of urgency and poor customer service were incredibly disappointing and came across as quite rude.

Definately going back there. The best experience, was way better than home.

Arthouse is one of our favorite hotels. The rooms, the location and the lobby and staff are all wonderful. I don't think the complimentary continental breakfast is a good idea because there are so few options. If there were no complimentary continental breakfast, guests would NOT be disappointed with the limited choices of baked goods. Otherwise, it's a wonderful place.

The front desk were quite accommodating in fulfilling some requirements for some extra amenities. Bell desk and concierge were also quite helpful, arranged an airport drop off at very reasonable price.

I love the location, beds were comfortable, water pressure was good. Room temperature and air conditioning worked well. The staff very accommodating and helpful with all requests. I will be staying there again.

So much of the description is exaggerated. Easily one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at in NYC. The business center is essentially a desk in the lobby (which gets taken over by an external group for an assembly every Wednesday morning); the hallways and rooms are old and dated; none of the balcony space in the photos are public; plastic disposable cups in the room; poor toiletries; no fridge, rooms not clean, etc. The “continental breakfast” is a choice of one pastry or bagel and drip coffee or a bottle of water, no substitutions! They have obviously spent money to renovate the entrance but the rest is third rate. The other hotels in the area have arrangements with parking garages - this hotels offers a rate that is above what you get as a walk-in! Half the staff were nice, the rest were rude and couldn’t care less. The maintenance, cleaning staff and door men were very friendly. To call this place “upscale” is a huge overstatement. Will not return if it was free.
