it was a first time and a great experience riding in a Shinkansen… It was a n amazing experience. the buller train was really on time. They gave an ample amount of time to clean the train before boarding. Also, if you want a great view of amt.Fuji and some other greenery places of Japan, book a seat on the right side C or D if your destination is Shin Osaka. I booked in a first class so the seat was really very spacious and comfortable. You might as well recline the chair if you wanted to. The window of the first class was also bigger, I guess.

Japan train stations might get confusing given how huge and crowded it is. This is especially true in huge stations in major cities like Kyoto and Tokyo. Do take more time to familiarize yourself. This is especially true with your suitcases. I took a taxi from my hotel to the station which is easy enough. You then head to the screens to check the platforms. For bookings made via Smart Ex, you can get mobile tickets and simply access the platforms by scanning the QR code.

Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto - Morioka
Die Reservierung der Tickets, also der Kauf vorab, auf der Strecke Shin-Hakodate nach Tokyo macht Sinn, denn der Zug wird auf der Fahrt nach Süden (Tokyo) immer voller. Der Kauf bzw. die Reservierung ist über Klook denkbar einfach. Es reicht der Ausdruck des QR-Codes, den man bei einem Klook Account auch digital erhält. Die Fahrkartenautomaten der JR Railway sind leicht zu erkennen und nachdem man oben die Sprache auf Englisch umgestellt hat, muss man nur noch den Button für zwei Fahrgäste (in unserem Fall) setzen, den Button zur Abholung reservierter Tickets finden und den QR- Code anhalten. Danach erfolgt der Ausdruck der Tickets, also in unserem Fall 2x2 Stück. Beide werden mit dem Magnetstreifen in den Kartenleser des Bahnsteig-Gates geschoben und kommen 2 m weiter wieder raus. Unbedingt mitnehmen, obwohl im Zug kein Schaffner kontrolliert! Auf dem Bahnsteig genau an der automatischen Tür bzw. dem Punkt warten, wo der reservierte Wagon hält. Einsteigen und los geht's. Die Tickets werden am Zielbahnhof wieder durch die Exit-Gates geschoben, werden aber nicht mehr "ausgespuckt". Schade, wäre ein schönes Souvenir gewesen. Klook und Shinkansen, gerne immer wieder 😜

Shin-Osaka - Tokyo
it’s our first time riding the bullet train, a few mistakes here and there but other than that it’s still worth it. Try to book your tickets early so you choose the seats with Mt. Fuji as it is not guaranteed if you book it last minute but you can skip the long line. Riding the bullet train itself is a great experience and on top of that you can see different areas in Japan that are so different from cities.

It was our first time using the Shinkansen, got the tickets right away and Klook instructions were clear and took us under 1 min, you have to put in 2 tickets at the same time. check with an attendant which tickets go together especially if you have children with you, tickets get confusing and you won’t know which ones to scan. HOLD ONTO THEM FOR DEAR LIFE as you will need them to get out. 😂😂 we had pretty big luggage and we managed to lift it on the overhead space. make sure you get on the right train. so many people tried to take our seats because they got in too soon. check the times properly. there are so many vending machines and bento boxes etc on the platform and you can eat on the train, train also has clean bathrooms :) we also had the view of Mt Fuji on the right from Tokyo to Osaka.

when we got in shinosaka station, the line to get jr shinkansen tickets was so long but with this klook ticket we went straight to the gate and used our qr. it was so comfortable and if u avail nonreserve seats (car 5-6), u can get into the train anytime regardless of the time you set in your ticket

Tokyo - Shin-Osaka
The Tokaido Shinkansen brought me to Osaka very quickly. It was an N700 Supreme. I got to Tokyo Station through Yamanote Line and was still in the JR part of the Station. Look for Tokaido Shinkansen signs. Tap your IC Card first and then scan the QR Code. I asked the stuff to print me a paper, but nobody in the train even asked for it. Sit on the right side, if you want to see Mount Fuji.

Kawaguchiko - Shinjuku
easy to book. upon entering kawaguchiko station we were told that no physical tickets are needed. so u can save the hassle of getting a ticket from the machines at the station, instead just show the confirmation on the phone (Klook app) remember not to show screenshot of confirmation as that is not acceptable.

Asakusa - Tobu Nikko
Booking was instant. In fact, I had to reschedule my trip to Nikko and was only just charged 100yen for each ticket cancellation which was very humane of Klook. Train was punctual and very clean, has toilets too.

Tokyo - Karuizawa
We enjoy our time in Karuizawa. The ride is about 1 hour journey by shinkansen train from Tokyo station to Karuizawa Station. we stayed for 2 days there and there are plenty of activities and sight seeing to do at Karuizawa. Also plenty of good italian restaurant there. We enjoy a good amount of time at the Prince shopping outlet. It really is a heaven for shopping, just dont forget to bring an empty suitcase
