Our room had a non functioning shower. Unfortunately, we did not find this out after a day in the city, when we want to shower before getting into bed. It was around 11:30pm, so the front desk was not able to do anything. He took notes, and told us someone from the day shift will contact me. Needless to say, it was not a very restful and comfortable night of sleep. When we woke up, there was still no contact by the front desk. When we checked out, I asked the front desk if they were aware of the situation. The answer was “That’s unfortunate”. Excuse me? When a guest just told you about a non functioning shower, that’s your answer? Mind you, this is the summer! It was a raining and muggy day, a nice shower is very much needed. When I asked if they can compensate

A wonderful location near Columbus Circle, relatively reasonably priced. Generally clean and comfortable and updated. Staff is quite helpful. A nicesmall hotel.

Over all great staff and location!!

We've stayed many times at 6 Columbus, and LOVED it. This time the night before our reservation they emailed us through Orbitz to let us know that they did not have our suite and downgraded us to a tiny room only. Nothing but an email. NO way to talk to anyone in charge that night. Yes, they had a reason, but it didn't matter to me, and was incredibly last minute. We had made the reservation months before, and I called a few days before to make sure as was well. When I reserve third parties, I always follow up to make sure the hotel received my reservation. We can't stay in a small room for many reasons - traveling for performance, and we always get a suite. There was nothing I could say or do to get my room back. After several emails, messages, a terrible night's sleep, finally talking to a manager the next morning, they offered us a $500 credit towards another time, but that didn't help this time at all. They did refund my trip to Orbitz, but again, didn't help with the problem at hand. We were lucky in that we did get another hotel very last minute, and at least our trip wasn't ruined, but this was so unprofessional, nerve-wracking, and infuriating. I've really never heard of such a thing - and in NYC! I'd say, great hotel, but goodness - this was horrible, and I don't want to stay there again, and they won't GIVE me $500 outright, only use for future bookings through Orbitz. I'm over it, but beware all. I guess this sort of thing could happen to anyone.

Very dark and poorly lit everywhere. Halls, rooms and lobby. Frig didn’t know work and the shower was extremely small

Accommodations here were tremendous! Step outside the door of 6 Columbus Circle into the heart of the city. Although you couldn't tell from the hotel room. Quiet and cozy best describes the Deluxe King Bed room I stayed in. To say it was intimate would be an understatement. To be expected in NYC, where square footage is at a premium. The bathroom, even more so. And what's the deal with the towels? I found the one towel per person policy a bit stingy for this place. Perhaps because there was nowhere to store extra towels anywhere in the aesthetically pleasing, amazing shower-pressure contemporary nook of a full bath. Just a guess. Didn't dampen my stay at all, not as much as the very noisy window AC unit. The rooftop bar and access to a great sushi menu more than made up for it. Not so much for the views from the rooftop, which are very limited, yet the atmosphere is upscale chic and comforting. Oh, by the way...the sushi is excellent! I was treated very well at this place wearing this skin suit and have to applaud the cleaning staff for their housekeeping duties well after I'd arisen from the late night before.

Location couldn't be more perfect!

No breakfast. There are some awfully dark rooms. You feel like you are in a prison. They should state this in the room types descriptions at booking stage so you are not shocked when you enter the room.

Great front desk staff and valet made for a warm and comfortable stay in appealing, clean blue and white rooms. Some of the best sushi ever had in the restaurant attached to the hotel. Sweet roof deck. Fantastic location a stones throw from Columbus Circle and Central Park. Very accommodating of all dog. Valet parking. We will stay there again!
