We stayed here for one night. The location is fantastic. Your close to times square. There is a lot of things to do for entertainment, shopping, food, etc. The hotel felt historic. The elevators were small and slow. The two staircases were classic marble, small and have classic character. The hallways are narrow but again have a nostalgic feel from early 1900 I would guess. They did have a security guard. The have a small section with seating and watching tv. It also felt classic there. There was a restaurant attached to it. The rooms are probably 180(?) square feet. They were small but adequate. I found the hotel and our room to be clean. I personally found our room to be quiet. The window AC unit worked well. Parking; it's present on the block in a separate public garage. We took the train/subway. I am fussy on clean, quite, and safe hotels. Hotel St James did not disappoint.

Very accessible, clean, helpful staff and great location.

10/10 would stay again

Amazing place. Very very reasonably priced for its location. 10 minutes or less to walk to most of Broadway, 30 Rock, and close to subway stations. They are very accommodating about letting you leave luggage before or after checkout. No breakfast or coffee, but no big deal- there’s a bodega literally right next door. Already booked again for my upcoming trip. Thank you!!!

Small room, no view but I didn’t go to stay in my room. Clean helpful kind staff. Older hotel with character not basic new builds. Staff members Andreas super helpful.

Great location

The location is excellent, just a block away from Time Square! The hotel needs upgrade, but the room was very clean and comfortable. Great A/C and water pressure. The staff was very helpful.

The location is great, right in the heart of Time Square. We had an issue with our room but the staff was able to address our concerns right away. Our room was very cute, clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly upon entering and leaving the hotel.

It was a terrible experience. It was the first time in my life I had to stay in conditions like this. A friend recommended that I book through Expedia. Since it was my first time ever booking a hotel, I didn’t fully understand everything and trusted what Expedia suggested. The website showed the hotel with an 7,4/10 rating and the price for three nights seemed reasonable, so I booked it. I had already overpaid for my plane tickets because they were so expensive, so I was trying to save on the hotel. When I arrived, I found out it was a very old two-star hotel. It was worn down, outdated, and smelled musty. The room had a strong sewage/toilet odor that never went away because there was no proper ventilation. There wasn’t even a kettle or a refrigerator, but there was an iron. Honestly, guests would benefit much more from having a kettle or a microwave. The bathroom smelled like urine, even though it looked clean. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, which was a huge problem because I work remotely and couldn’t even connect to check my email. Many guests were sitting in the lobby just to use the internet and get their work done.

The location was amazing, the staff was excellent and the accommodations were pleasant and quaint. Close proximity to everything you need to enjoy NYC
